Sunday, 8 March 2015. The Story so far! 24th May 1908 the 1st Whitby Boy Scouts parading down the High Street. On the 29th January 1909 A Rev C Willoughby-Poignand wrote in response to the article a week prior he stated that he had formed the 1st Whitby Boy Scout Troop at the Institute House in Grape Lane, 2 months Prior to the Whitby Gazette article. Which means the 1st Whitby Boy Scout Troop was formed in November 1908. The 1st Whitby Boy Scout Troop in January 1909.
